Our district believes in utiliizing the innovative teachers in our district. Teachers who wish to use technology to enhance instruction and learning have the opportunity to book the District Technology Teacher to work collaboratively in a mentorship model to develop and deploy curriculum using technology as the tool.
As well, through TDP newer teachers can apply for time to develop rich curriculum with the local school Computer Resource Teacher and the District Technology Resource Teacher.
Teachers can also apply for special equipment (technology and otherwise) at the school level. Unfortunately funding is very limited. However, despite tight budgets, many teachers are using SmartBoards, Laptops, Projectors, and other technology equipment in their teaching.
Our District believes in keeping the Web as open as possible allowing teachers to use some of the innovative collaboration tools on the web to enhance learning in school and at home. Teachers can also teach students the safe, responsible and appropriate use of new technologies.

Allocation of special funds (similar to the old Curriculum Council) for teachers who wish to develop innovative instruction and learning strategies.
Allocate funds for time to develop creative, innovative teaching and learning units
Make teachers more aware of tools already online such as Learn Now BC, elluminate, Google Docs, Wikis, Blogs and online chats
