  • New Web Policy designed to drive Technology in our schools will be drafted and adopted by the end of this school year
  • New Content Management Web Server
    • Druple or equivalent CMS software on District Web Server
    • MySQL

    • Expandability
    • Ability to run html sites (Dreamweaver District Site) along side the new CMS system

  • New e-mail server with:
    • exchange server like gmail.com
    • Server that can activate all of the functions of Outlook
    • Common and private calendars, groups
    • Interactivity amongst email users
    • Standardized functionality througout the school district
    • Will work from all locations - home, school and away

  • Installation of more robust networks to allow the full functions of OS X Servers
  • Improve the connectivity of our wireless systems in our schools so that a class set of computers can access the wireless system at the same time without clients dropping signal
  • Wireless access using DHCP where teachers and students can log in at any school with an ID and Password
  • More communication and cooperation between CRTs and Technicians
  • Full complement of tools established with templates for easy use by students and educators
  • A common place for teachers to post homework on the School District website linked into the school's webpage. Consistent format, easy access.
  • easy access wiki's that teachers and students can use to set up common work areas for projects and assignments
  • Organized content repositories to provide rich resources for classrooms, for day to day lessons, enrichment and remediation
  • Establishment of SECURE parts of the school district web environment where professionals could dialogue about issues, potential solutions and resource sharing...akin to a VIRTUAL COFFEE SHOP...where people drop in to add their 3 cents worth...and leave
